Offering outstanding coaching, equipment and facilities, the Summer Program provides rigorous training and intense racing. Vesper Boat Club assists athletes in securing housing. Although Vesper cannot guarantee employment, Vesper will assist athletes in finding positions that will to accommodate their training and racing schedule.

Athlete Requirements for Summer program
Minimum one year of collegiate rowing experience;
Coachs recommendation;
Submission of a 2K or 6K ergometer score; and
Completed Summer Program Application

NOTE: Change in Mens Summer Program
Our 2008 Mens Summer Program will be shorter than normal and will not include the Canadian Henley this year. In addition to Elite Nationals, Senior Nationals, and Independence Day Regattas, we will focus on qualifying a 4+ for the U-23 Worlds in Brandenburg Germany 16-20 July.
The womens program aims to continue their winning tradition and will run the full summer program schedule including Canadian Henley.
Women:
Program runs from June 14th till August 10th (Canadian Henley).
Duration: 8 weeks
Focus: Canadian Henley, World trials W4-
Races: IDR, Elite Nationals, Club Nationals, Canadian Henley
Costs: 300 dollars, including uni.
Coach: Paul Bugenhagen
Men:
Program runs from June 14th till July 20th (Club Nationals)
Duration: 5 weeks
Focus: Elite Nationals, U23 trials 4+, World trials M2+
Races: IDR, Elite Nationals, U23 trials, Club Nationals
Costs: 250 dollars, including uni.
Fee includes: Program dues and regatta entry fees and equipment rental.
(Rent, living and travel expenses are not included)

Head Coach
Michiel Bartman joined Vesper as full-time Head Coach in Spring 2005. His rowing career highlights in the Netherlands include numerous World Championships and Olympic Gold in the Dutch mens eight in 1996, Olympic Silver in the Dutch Men's Quad in 2000, and Olympic Silver in the Dutch men's eight in 2004. He served as assistant coach to the Dutch National Team.
