Vesper Boat Club’s National Selection Regatta Champions

During a recent practice on the Schuylkill River, Vesper Boat Club’s Wendy Campanella (left) and Jana Heere demonstrate the sculling form that propelled them to victory at the National Selection Regatta, held April 29 on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. The win earned Campanella and Heere seats on the 2007 National Rowing Team; they will compete as the United States’ lightweight women’s double at FISA World Rowing Championships in Munich, Germany in August. The double trains with Vesper’s Elite Program, which is coached by Michiel Bartman, a three-time Dutch Olympic medalist. All Together!
