SCHUYLKILL NAVY REMINDERS

Having received a friendly reminder from SN regarding a Vesper Boat that was breaking a rule, I just want to remind everyone to be aware of all SN Safety Rules and make sure you are following them.

Due to the absence of the Safety Curtain/Cables, and until its return, remember these three changes:

1) All boats must be on the paddle at the end of the Statue Garden Wall
2) Returning boats must be single file only once you reach Sedgeley
3) No youth boats may be below the Girard Ave Bridge without their perspective Coach

4 Oar Rule Lifted

Effective Today Wednesday, April 13th, the Four Oar Rule is lifted.

The weather is great this week and the water temperature is almost 54 degrees; let's hope this holds and that Spring is finally here!

4 Oar Rule

Effective immediately - The 4 Oar Rule is back!

Mother Nature doesn’t want Spring to be here yet, and the the next few days are guaranteed to be below our threshold for safe rowing in singles. While this is definitely very temporary, it is necessary.

Stay safe and hurry back Spring!!!

4 Oar Rule, Dock Schedule

From the Captain - 4 Oar Rule, Dock Schedule

Effective Friday, March 18th, the Four Oar Rule will be lifted. While the water temperature is still in the mid to high 40’s, the air temperature for the next 3 weeks is sufficient to lift the rule.

Please check the Vesper website to see which club boats will be unavailable during high school practices and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Boat Rack Space

Rack Space at Vesper

In an effort to get organized for a great Spring Season and beyond; I am asking for Member requests for the following:

1) You want to rent a boat rack and I have not contacted you within the last week regarding the wait list.

2) You currently have a boat at the club but wish to move. Examples: move from outside to inside or get on a Waiting List for the Singles bay.

Vesper Dock Reopening

Effective tomorrow, 2-7-22, the dock closure is canceled.

The ice is gone (but don’t be complacent about a random ice chunk) and the weather is less severe. However, the 4 oar rule remains in effect and remaining cautious is always a good thing!

And get this: Masters Practice is on for Tuesday morning!!!! Have fun AND be safe!!
